Case Study Digital Transformation Maturity Assessment

The Challenge

The customer had been running a digital transformation programme for over 6 months but was not sure whether it was aligned with their overall business strategy and goals.

In addition to that, the wider organisation (outside of the immediate digital programme team) was not aware of the transformation programme and was unsupportive/indifferent to it.

As a result, the key programme sponsors were worried that budget was not being spent on critical initiatives (aligned with long term business strategy) and more importantly the transformation programme may become yet another technology initiative without delivering the required organisational change.

The Solution

We conducted a rapid 6 weeks digital maturity assessment by running a series of workshops, interviews and meetings across 12 different stakeholder groups. Findings were then presented back to the Digital, IT and Business leadership in order to seek change sponsorship and accountability.

Maturity assessment was done across three pillars: Organisational maturity, Digital platform and Internal capability.

Ten key focus areas including capability roadmap alignment, governance & prioritisation process and people change were recommended. Each of these recommendations had actions to inject pace into the programme.

"How do we ensure that our multi-million digital transformation programme is aligned to our business strategy and goals?"
